Back to the Future that Never Was

I just finished reading the first draft script for Back to the Future.  I had always heard that it was quite different from the film I know but I didn’t realize how true that was until today.

If they had made the movie that I read today it never would have become such a lasting sucess.  In fact, I would say that it wouldn’t have been much of a sucess at all and it certainly wouldn’t have merited two sequals.

If your interested you can read it here.

Heroes

I just finished watching the as yet unaired pilot for Heroes and I must say it was great.  I’ve loved the idea behind this show since I first heard about it and it lives up to my high expectations.

Many of the characters echoed thoughts that I’ve had, and occasionally still have, in regards to finding out you have super powers.  Unfortunately for me I’ll only ever have the thoughts.  :)

Picture Gallery is Up

The picture gallery is online again.

I still have some formatting and other nitpick things to do but all the images are there now.

Edit:  I have now tweaked the gallery to my liking.  I hope you enjoy it too.  :)  Don’t forget if you have any pictures you’d like to see posted please let me know.

I think I’ll work on adding an album for my family next.  After all it seems kinda of silly for me not to have one.

New Page

I’ve decided to go with a much more simple web site.  The old design was a bit of a pain to update.  Plus I don’t typically update very often so I had to figure everything out everytime I wanted to make a change.  Since all I was really doing with it was the occasional blog post anyway, now it’s just a blog.  :)

Currently the Picture Gallery is down while I overhaul it as well.  I hope to have it back up soon and, again, it should be much easier to maintain.

Star Wars Flight Sim

I don’t know about you but I am ready for a new Star Wars flight sim game. I miss the classics like X-Wing, Tie-Fighter and X-Wing Alliance all very great games for their time. In today’s age of MMORPG’s and the great rise of general online game play isn’t it time Lucasarts gave us an online flight sim? I think so!

Because I know the master of all things Star Wars, George Lucas himself, is such a great fan of my blog (if you believe that I have some land I’d like to sell you) I’m going to save his development team some time and write up some preliminary features and suggestions for this as yet untitled masterpiece of gamming history.

Features:

Play as the Alliance or the evil Galactic Empire

Play head-to-head against your friends online

Create a flight group with your friends and play co-op missions

Play online or over a LAN connection

    Integrated Voice Chat

Play through story mode, skirmish mode or create your missions with the all new mission planner option

Unlock memorable battles, like the battle of Hoth, or the attack on the Death Star’s

With great features like these the game is sure to be a smash hit. I would gladly play a nominal monthly fee to play this game. It would be so cool to get a group of friends together and create our own flight group. Each person could specialize in a specific type of craft or be a jack of all trades. You could run co-op missions together or battle against other flight groups in the online skirmish option.

Since we would be paying a monthly fee, Lucasarts could release periodic updates that would improve game play. Very much like City of Heroes does now. Adding new mission content and addressing any bugs that pop up along the way.

So if you think this would just be one of the best games ever post a reply to this blog. Adding any further suggestions to framework I have already established. Who knows maybe one day Lucasarts will release this game and it would be interesting to see how many of our ideas they use. :)
